Daily Cleanser: Kinerase vs Clinique

I will be the first to admit that I don't wash my face (shh, don't tell Bella) as regularly as I should.  Typically, I just clean my face while showering with Clean & Clear Steam 2-3 times per week and moisturize daily with a varying combo of Clinique Moisturizing Lotion and Gel.  But I know this isn't enough as I do occasionally get a breakout and have blackheads around my T zone.  I was hoping that something new and wonderful would get me back into a regular routine.

So when I received a deluxe size sample of Kinerase Gentle Daily Cleanser from Sephora  I was really excited about giving it a try.

The Kinerase cleanser is amazing. My face felt so clean and refreshed. It is gentle enough to use on your eyes yet effective. It even washes away my waterproof Diorshow mascara without any residue or extra scrubbing. That, in itself, is a glorious thing considering I have nearly poked my eye out trying to remove that stuff a few times before.  I experienced no oily residue or dry spots with this cleanser. It is unscented and great for even the most sensitive skin types.

However, at $33 bucks for 6.6 oz. bottle, I was a little hesitant in ordering the full size now that I have used up my deluxe sample. I really liked this stuff and if I had an extra $33 bucks to toss out the window for a facial soap, I most definitely would spend it on this product. But, with these harsh economic times, I decided to surf around Sephora a little more before I took the thirty-three dollar plunge.

And viola! Sephora (and Clinique) came to my rescue....

While perusing Sephora for a better priced yet still effective cleanser, I remembered that I had once loved this Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild).

I used it many, many years ago, when I still followed a strict facial cleansing regimen.

This cleanser also offers a mild cleansing with a refreshing, clean after effect. It too is gentle enough to be used on your eyes and leaves no oiliness or dry spotting.  And it too boasts the unscented factor!

I honestly don't know why I stopped using it. I think I just ran out and then tried other products and just totally forgot that I liked it so much before.  If memory serves me, it is gives me almost the same exact cleansing and cleaning sensation as the Kinerase does.

So when I saw that it was priced at half the price of Kinerase ($15), for a 6.7 oz. bottle, I decided to opt for the Clinique and hold off on the Kinerase.  Do you blame me? I mean, it is practically the same exact product... unscented, gentle and refreshing. Unfortunately, I couldn't compare the ingredients between the two products but I am positive I will be just as happy with the Clinique cleanser.

What facial cleanser do you use? Do you follow a facial cleansing regimen? Have you used any of the products I mentioned? Do tell....

Sometimes I just need to take a deep breath!

Yep, yep, been MIA for a good minute now. My apologies. My life got crazy hectic there for a second... I am sure we have all been there a time or two.  I won't bore you with the details of last week but lets just say I was hella busy on this roller coaster I call life.  But not today! Nope, I will not let today get bogged down with the same vacuous air that was streaming my way all last week.

Today is my only day off this week from work and I plan on taking full advantage of the day and just enjoying myself.  I have been tidying up my house a bit and, of course, the dreaded laundry chore.  Taking long, peaceful breaks out on my porch just to stare out at the gorgeous weather and the splendid signs of Spring. I think I will pick up some plants this week and do a little gardening.  I don't have much of a green thumb though. We'll see...

This evening, I plan on catching up on everyone's posts that I missed and some much needed Sugar time.  I also hope to chat it up with my girl Brina at some point if we can manage to catch each other before the end of the night.  Other than that, I won't be doing much of anything special. I need to watch the movie I rented (Transporter 3) but I might just keep it one more night and watch it tomorrow after work.  I am not really feeling movie night tonight for some reason.

Can't wait to read all the posts I missed! Until then, xoxo

March 10 2009

Today was my chill day. Never even left the house. With everything else I have going on, it feels good to not have a single thing to do.

I felt like crap when I woke up this morning and pretty much just chilled the rest of the day away. I sat outside and enjoyed the fresh breeze and warm, sunny day for a bit while talking to a friend on the phone. Other than that, I didn't do much of anything.

This afternoon, I added the new blogroll feature to my site. I also tried to work with my new layout theme but I can't seem to remove that white bar from each post so if someone can tell me where to go...please do so b/c it is bugging the crap out of me. Really! Oh, and I also added facebook updates today.

Tonight, I am catching up on my Sugar blogs and posts until Nip/Tuck starts. Then, I will watch that and Real Housewives of NYC on break. After that, I will probably decide what to wear to work tomorrow and call it a night so there after.

I have to work tomorrow. It's a midday shift (which is my favorite shift). Tomorrow is also Lil Man's (Garrett) birthday. I am hoping to meet up with Jess and the kids to take him out for ice cream once I get off from work.

This weekend is going to be sooo long. Starting Thursday, I work the closing shift every night until Tuesday. IDK what my schedule is like after that but I hope it includes several days off! I do know that I have to work the morning shift next Saturday which is that day of Lil Man's birthday party. That kind of sucks but I can deal with it.

Well, I just wanted to update everyone real quick. I am working on a mascara post and my e.l.f. review but it will be a few more days until it is ready for posting. Sorry. The first photoshoot I had for the mascara didn't turn out too well so I have to do a re-shoot which should be tomorrow if I wake up in time... so keep checking back for those posts.

Hope everyone is doing well! xoxo

With Spring coming, I decided it was time for a new look for Tiny Bubbles. I am still working out the kinks but tell me what you all think... :)
