Daily Cleanser: Kinerase vs Clinique
I will be the first to admit that I don't wash my face (shh, don't tell Bella) as regularly as I should. Typically, I just clean my face while showering with Clean & Clear Steam 2-3 times per week and moisturize daily with a varying combo of Clinique Moisturizing Lotion and Gel. But I know this isn't enough as I do occasionally get a breakout and have blackheads around my T zone. I was hoping that something new and wonderful would get me back into a regular routine.
So when I received a deluxe size sample of Kinerase Gentle Daily Cleanser from Sephora I was really excited about giving it a try.

The Kinerase cleanser is amazing. My face felt so clean and refreshed. It is gentle enough to use on your eyes yet effective. It even washes away my waterproof Diorshow mascara without any residue or extra scrubbing. That, in itself, is a glorious thing considering I have nearly poked my eye out trying to remove that stuff a few times before. I experienced no oily residue or dry spots with this cleanser. It is unscented and great for even the most sensitive skin types.
However, at $33 bucks for 6.6 oz. bottle, I was a little hesitant in ordering the full size now that I have used up my deluxe sample. I really liked this stuff and if I had an extra $33 bucks to toss out the window for a facial soap, I most definitely would spend it on this product. But, with these harsh economic times, I decided to surf around Sephora a little more before I took the thirty-three dollar plunge.
And viola! Sephora (and Clinique) came to my rescue....

While perusing Sephora for a better priced yet still effective cleanser, I remembered that I had once loved this Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild).
I used it many, many years ago, when I still followed a strict facial cleansing regimen.
This cleanser also offers a mild cleansing with a refreshing, clean after effect. It too is gentle enough to be used on your eyes and leaves no oiliness or dry spotting. And it too boasts the unscented factor!
I honestly don't know why I stopped using it. I think I just ran out and then tried other products and just totally forgot that I liked it so much before. If memory serves me, it is gives me almost the same exact cleansing and cleaning sensation as the Kinerase does.
So when I saw that it was priced at half the price of Kinerase ($15), for a 6.7 oz. bottle, I decided to opt for the Clinique and hold off on the Kinerase. Do you blame me? I mean, it is practically the same exact product... unscented, gentle and refreshing. Unfortunately, I couldn't compare the ingredients between the two products but I am positive I will be just as happy with the Clinique cleanser.
What facial cleanser do you use? Do you follow a facial cleansing regimen? Have you used any of the products I mentioned? Do tell....
